A friend with a far greater knowledge of poetics than I has pointed out the following: So "is the water hot enough for me?" - iambic pentameter

"The water's hot enough for me to have a bath" - iambic hexameter

"Well, the water aint hot so I can't take a bath" - anapaestic tetrameter

"Watery coolness is always available" - dactylic tetrameter

All I know is that the original sounds like blank verse to me.
