You strike some familiar notes here. Churches are great places for comedy. During my altar boy days, I provided some. Highlights included: holding a large candle that fell to pieces during a procession ahead of a bishop; losing control of the censer causing the front three rows to duck; and holding the bishop's hat so reverently for a two-hour confirmation service that my arms locked in a shelf-like position. But then again, every solemn occasion is just a moment away from the giggles.
